Audio transfer from headphone jack to mic jack...?

I have the Olympus VN-6000pc digital recorder. This model does not have a usb port for easy file transfers. I bought a 3.5mm audio cable to connect the headphone jack on the recorder to the microphone on my laptop. I am using Audicity software which is supposed to be the best freeware available for audio editing; however I receive a ton of noise after the file has been transferred. I have also tried playing the recording directly to the laptop mic and that is much more clear, but I am not satisfied with it as the sound is much clearer directly from the recorder itself. Plus any background noise will be included in the recording as the file is being recorded with just a mic. That is the reason I want to use a cable. Is there any settings that will reduce the background noise to give me the clearest possible recording on my laptop? Will changing the sample rate improve the clarity? Any other tricks I can try?

What do I do about my recent past, I need help?

I went through a very tough five years emotionally and financially. Everything bad that could happen happened. My best friend died, my parents, I went to hell and back. No nonsense or doubt about this.Two of us followed shortly by a third witness observed an orange spherical object while standing outside a friends house. It was late this evening about 11.30pm and this object at about the height of a microlite moved like a silent helicopter from above Parliament Street and along in line with Hope Street above the University. So from a South easterly to North direction. It was apparently and in some odd way being propelled at a steady speed and appeared to be either very brightly lit amber or ablaze. I don't want to buy a kit of a with a ton of filters for a ton of money so which which filters are good for sharpening the contrast between the rings of saturn and which colors can sharpen the storm patterns on the surface. My year old kitten ingested a miniscule amount of triple anitbiotic ointment. (from a bandaid on my toe) Anyway, I called the ASPCA (they have poison control for cats). Previously asking a question to them was free. This time they tried to charge $60 to answer my question. Any advice or info regarding feline ingestion of a triple antibiotic ointment would be greatly appreciated or if anyone knows an alternative number for cat/animal poison control that would be great as well!

I've recently tried Lucid and Kubler brands. I've tried a sip of both straight - lucid is very harsh and kubler isn't bad. I'm drinking kubler with just water right now. I find it sweet enough on its own. I would drink lucid with sugar or some other mixer - I tried a few to see what it was like. I found a bit of lemonade and lucid to be a very interesting drink. It's just licquor, have fun with it - but make sure there are designated drivers because it is quite strong.

Why has my computer screen suddenly blanked out?

I have a ViewSonic VX924 19" LCD computer monitor (mfg date: 10/2005) & a Diamond S60 32mb DDR Radeon 7000 AGP graphics card installed. Last night, without warning, the darn sceen suddenly went black and then started to flash to a viewable screen every other second. I turned the monitors' power off, waited a couple seconds, then turned it back on... but still kept getting the flashing screen (black/viewable) as well as a flashing green LED on the monitor. I quickly put my PC into 'sleep' mode, since i couldn't power down. I turned off my monitor & disconnected power, disconnected from my tower & powered down my PC. I reconnected everything... but to no avail! I'm still getting a flashing screen. I pulled out my old CRT & its working like a champ. I'm thinking my monitors' capacitors may have dried out and need to be replaced. I am desperate for any advice at this point. BTW, I'm the second owner so there is no service warranty. 10 gallons is not a lot of real estate, so you won't be able to keep too many fish in that aquarium. I'd stick to small, slim bodied fish.
