Sequal to 'The Giver'?

I have just read in High School Brit Lit, the book 'The Giver' about the boy Jonas who becomes 'The Recevier of Memories' or something to that effect and the leaves and then the book ends with a halt and i did not like it at all...I have heard of another book called 'The Giver of Blue' and besides that might there be a sequal to the book 'The Giver'? I enjoyed it so much and was wondering what happened to Jonas and Gabe and everyone else.
