Does Obama find much similarity of govt systems of Islamic countries like in the Middle East and of the USA?

Extremism had been cited in his talk but he did not specify Islamic extremism. For America, he did not push the principles of fairness, equality and freedom as among the country's foremost belief or extremism. What has he had in mind to apologize to other countries for the American principles?
