I would then have to say that A is correct as the Ag is reduced when it goes from Ag+ to just Ag - meaning it has gained an electron. At the same time, the Cu goes from just Cu to Cu2+ - meaning it has lost electrons and OILRIG (oxidation is loss, reduction is gain). Therefore, the Cu is the reducing agent because it causes reduction in the Ag+ and the AgNO3 is the oxidant as it causes oxidation in the Cu.
