Is there really a God?

I sort of have this disbelief in religion and that whole thing I'm not a total atheist but Catholicism and christianity and all that stuff seems to me kind of fake. My family is totally religious and I don't fight them on it because I just really believe in respecting others and that there is no right and wrong when it comes to certain issues, with this said can anyone really prove that God is real or is it just one big lie...Like Santa Clause.
