What software should a beginning music producer use?

i have decided to completely submerge myself in the world of hip-hop. that includes writing, rapping, and producing. writing and rapping are pretty straightforward, I've already gotten some practice in and I'm getting better. However producing is harder. I have been using garageband just to mess around and stuff, and recently i started using logic express, however i feel like theres better stuff out there. What kind of software are all the major studios using?
